2018 BWV TUF Parade

When: Saturday, September 15, 2018. The parade begins at 11 a.m. sharp.

Where:  The parade will move west along Bloor St. W. starting at High Park to Jane St. and then proceed north
along Jane, ending in the parking lot of St. Pius X School. The duration of the parade is one hour.

Cost: Free!

Parade Prizes for the Following Categories: Best Costumes; Best Float; Best Overall Non-Commercial Entry; Best Crowd Engagement; and Most Likes on Facebook!

2018 BWV TUF Parade Marshal

Michael Bociurkiw

Michael Bociurkiw is a Global Affairs Analyst, writer and speaker. He is a contributor to CNN.com and a regular on BBC World News, CNN International and Al Jazeera. A Ukrainian-Canadian, he has worked in several leadership roles in the community and has devoted many years of work in Ukraine, most recently as spokesperson for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine. He's also worked in-country as a Canadian election observer, as a project manager for UNICEF and on secondment by Global Affairs Canada to the Minister of Health of Ukraine. For more than a decade, Michael has worked in the humanitarian aid industry for both UNICEF and WHO. He has worked on  disasters ranging from the Pakistan earthquake of 2005 to Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar in 2008. As a journalist, his byline has appeared in many prominent publications, including the Globe and Mail, South China Morning Post, Aisa Times, Forbes. MSNBC and the Los Angeles Times. Michael is a 2 time former president of the Ukrainian Students' Union and on the executive board pf the Ukrainian Journalists Association of North America. Considered an expert on Ukraine, Michael has strived to give perspective to developments in modern day Ukraine through his opinion writing and TV and radio interviews. Born in Edmonton and now residing in Sidney, BC, Michael is currently working on a non-fiction book on Smartphone and social media addiction called "Digital Crack".
